Honoring God in the New Year
|
As we step into a brand-new year, it's a perfect time to reflect on our financial stewardship. The Bible reminds us that everything we have is entrusted to us by God (Psalm 24:1). Our responsibility is not just to manage these resources wisely, but to use them in ways that honor Him and bless others.
|
The new year offers a fresh opportunity to realign our financial priorities with God’s purposes. Start by asking yourself: “Am I handling God’s money in a way that reflects trust, obedience, and gratitude?” Here are three key principles to guide you:
|
- Plan Prayerfully
Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” Begin the year by prayerfully creating a budget that reflects your values. Include provisions for giving, saving, and spending. Ask God for wisdom to steward your finances in a way that brings glory to Him.
2.Give Generously
Generosity isn’t about how much we give but the heart with which we give. Jesus praised the widow who gave two small coins because she gave sacrificially and from her heart (Mark 12:41-44). Commit to being a cheerful giver this year, trusting God to supply all your needs as you sow

3.Trust Faithfully
The world often measures success by wealth, but God calls us to measure it by faithfulness. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Trust God’s provision as you make Him your financial priority.
|
As we enter this year, let’s resolve to honor God with every dollar entrusted to us. True financial stewardship isn’t just about managing money—it’s about growing in faith, living generously, and impacting lives for eternity.
