I grew up in California, and when I found myself seeking a new chapter, I followed God’s leading to Walla Walla University, where I earned a degree in Theology and Biblical Languages. My journey in ministry began when I took the call with Washington Conference and was placed at Green Lake Church, where I had the joy of serving for nearly three years. Now, I feel deeply honored to step into the role of associate pastor here at Kirkland Church. I am passionate about cultivating spaces where people can be real, ask big questions, and encounter the transforming love of God in everyday life. Outside of church life, I love spending time with my friend and family, enjoying good food, and traveling whenever I can. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you.

We were so blessed to seek the Lord together during the 10 Days of Prayer! But the journey doesn’t end there—we’re excited to invite you to Back to the Altar 100 Days of Prayer!

In 1 Kings 18:30 we read, "Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me." So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD [that was] broken down."

We have been distracted by many things. We live in a world of broken down altars. It's time to rebuild, or build stronger, our altars of worship.

From April 4 – July 12, 2025, we are embarking on a 14 week Back to the Altar revival series--a journey of prayer and Bible study, learning what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

Outreach Meal Preparation

Shut-Ins: In an effort to provide better care for our members, we are asking your help in locating members of the Kirkland church who are not able to come to Sabbath services. We do not always know when someone is ill or disabled. Our pastors and elders would love to visit with these valuable members.

A Principle of Returning and Giving
|
Tithing is one of the most well-known practices of stewardship in the Christian faith. The concept of tithing is rooted in Scripture and reflects God’s design for how we should manage the resources He entrusts to us. At its core, the act of tithing involves both returning and giving—returning a portion of what God has already given to us, and giving it in a way that honors Him.
|
The word “tithe” literally means “a tenth,” and the biblical principle of tithing is based on returning back 10% of one’s income. In Malachi 3:10, God invites His people to bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, promising to bless them abundantly in return. This act of returning tithe acknowledges that all we have comes from God, and He is the ultimate owner of our resources. By returning a tenth of our income to Him, we express our obedience and show recognition of His provision.

As a colleague of mine said this week, “Giving starts with the 90%.” The tithe (the first tenth) is not ours to give. Hence, giving starts with the 90%. Faithful stewards acknowledge that everything belongs to God, even the 90%. I as a steward need to manage that portion in ways that honor Him.
|
The practice of tithing, however, goes beyond just returning what is God’s. It is also about giving with a heart of generosity and faith. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, we are reminded that God loves a cheerful giver. Tithe, then, is not a mere obligation but an opportunity to show our love for God and to give generously.
|
Tithing is a tangible reminder that our wealth is not solely for our benefit. The act of returning and giving serves as a guard against materialism and selfishness. It shifts our focus from accumulating wealth to using it for God's purposes, fostering a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity. When we tithe, we demonstrate trust in God's provision, knowing that He blesses the 90% to go farther than 100% ever could without His blessings.

As you reflect on your own giving, consider how you can return and give faithfully. Tithing is not just about a percentage of your income, but about returning to God what is rightfully His and giving in a way that reflects His generosity and trust in us.
